R1200GS w/a cee baily +4 +3. Broke one of the plastic shield mounts in the front and replaced w/touratec hard parts.

I find that my screen does not rattle, but does seem to squeak. This is to say that if I grab the top of the screen and wiggle it front/back there is a creak/squeek that seems to come from the plastic nuts (hand-tightened) that secure the screen on the adjustable track. The adjusters are quite tight, so I assumed this was normal friction induced slip/grip. I did notice that the RH mount in the front had a bit more play then the left side, so I tried the plumbers tape; it did seem to tighten it up, but the squeak remains. The nots are correctly oriented with the thick part on top.

I did not recall this with the stocker, but it was not on my ride very long. Anyone else notice this?

TIA.

Had same problem with mine, drove me mad(well madder!) Took it to my suppliing dealer, Mill BMW Boldon , Steve the excellant saleman there fixed it in 5 mins, its not the big plastic side screws that s the problem or even the two small screws that go thru' the front of the screen, its the black bit that those two front screws fit into, these two holders need a small rubber washer between them and the small grey metal frame work at front of screen, steve also repacked the grease but its the washers that did the trick , 1000 miles on no problems/ no retightening! try it def will work!:beerjug:

Both of the front mounts have the rubber washer, but I did not think of greasing them. Seems the plumber's tape should provide some lube, and perhaps that is why it does squeak less now.

Thanks for the tip

They all do that sir!

Mine was exactly the same - tried some PTFE tape around the little black plastic spigots, but this was only a partial fix. My dealer - Balderston of Peterborough - did an excellent job of fixing the problem at the first service yesterday, I havn't looked that closely, but it seems that they have added some extra washers and or tape to the spigots - HURRAH no more rattles!
