Hi all,

Since having a close encounter with a tree my screen has developed a wobble at 80mph.

I have gone round and tightened all the front beak and tobinators and everything is nice and solid.

Is this just a matter of readjusting the tobinator settings. :nenau

The screen is in the same position as before and it didn't wobble pre collision.

Can't find anything loose or bent, have I overlooked anything?

Ah were you the one that had the entire front loose on the last womble hunt? :eek

Anyway the effect you have is due to resonance. Think of a bus and how it shakes. You'll need to change the resonant frequency of the screen - probably by putting some washers between the parts where you clamp it down.

Hiya Snoopy,

Yes it was me and every bolt was loose

Now that I have tightened everything up it now "resonates" at 80mph. This just happens to be my cruising speed

I had the same thing when playing with the tobers setting. It only takes a bit to get the thing out of harmony. Are you sure its not too 'upright'? I fell foul of this trying to maximise height. :mmmm

I recently posted on rain wash problems and I am now going to lower setting even more to get more air flow in order to clean my visor.

What I have done is to pull the whole screen back towards me reducing the gap between the bottom of the screen and instrument cover but retained the height.

The resonating has stopped but it is not a sweet as it was before.

A bit more tweaking is needed.

What would be a good idea is for everyone with tobinators fitted to take a side view picture of the setting and mention their height etc so we can see if there is a set up that you could set it to before final adjustments :nenau

Just a thought....
