Hi folks,

I've broken the screen on my 1999 R1150GS. Well, an old crack has turned terminal and beyond araldite.

Is there a recommended alternative, given that Motorworks haven't a 2nd hand one and I've no idea what's good on the various over-height etc after-market ones?

Cheers

Seat swap

Got an 04`1150 Adventure, problem is the missus says that there is not enough room on the back with the one piece seat. Will the stadard two piece of the GS fit straight on? It looks to be a bit longer in total than mine. Sorry if its a stupid question, but I love the bike and want her to be comfortable. (easier life).
Thanks for any help.

i think you kinda hijacked this guys screen thread, but in answer to your question,no the std gs 2 piece wont go straight on, it will fit with a few extra bits and pieces, maybe worth posting a wanted ad asking for a seat swap over.
also there is a little touratech seat which fits right behind the gsa seat in case your wife is large to the rear.
Oh and somewhere i may have a std 1150(non gsa) gs screen , if interested let me know.atb Paul

If Mr Jardon :green gri :D hasn't (ahem) sorted you out yet, try the wanted section of this site :thumb2 - loads of peeps change to aftermarket, so there must be a few standard items gathering dust hither and thither :thumb2

Bad service from Motorworks

Damned annoying - I decided to buy one of their taller screens as I do get a fair amount of wind noise from the original.

Ordered it on Tuesday so that I could fit it tomorrow. I called them today to ask why it hadn't been delivered. Turns out they'd left the order on hold and it hadn't been dispatched.

I asked when I would now receive the order & was told Monday or Tuesday. I had deliberately ordered it early in the week so I'd have the new screen for the weekend. I asked if they would send it for Sat delivery as they'd made a cock-up and I needed the parts for tomorrow.

Not a chance. Their attitude was very simply "we made a mistake, it inconvenienced you: tough". :blast

As a friend said, it's only right to do the decent thing when you cock-up and companies with this kind of negative attitude are just dumb. This is the last business Motorworks will get from me.

Yep, I know that feeling. I ordered an F Fabbri screen for my Honda SP2 from Speedycom Performance and when after 3 weeks I hadnt received it I chased by email twice with no reply at all, not even a 'pi$$ off were're busy' email. Then I called them and they said that the factory had messed up a load of tinted screens. I told them that although useful information, it is only useful if the customer gets it. As I hadnt got the information until 5 weeks after ordering my screen, the information was about as useful as offering someone a lift to work once they have already turned up in the office. They weren't bothered in the slightest.

Anyway, I was going to say that Nippy Normans do a slightly tinted original spec screen for an 1150GSA which I bought to go with my tobinators. However I found the screen to be slightly stronger and it has been a fab combination with the tobinators. I know people rave about the MRA's but I bought one and flogged it within weeks on here as for me it was hopeless. Much too narrow and flappy and for me at 6ft 3inches I found it pretty useless. My tobinator / tinted screen combo is awesome. However its horses for courses as they say. Hope you get it sorted mate. :thumb2
