This a well worn topic,I suggest a search here or on www.f650.com.There doesn't seem to be an easy fix unfortunately, what works for one doesn't for another.Good luck and let us know how you get on!

Hi Moo, Try looking on the Wunderlich.co.uk site I beleive they do afew different size screens that are more up-right and wider. Also the Dakar screen will fit and is a tall version of the standard one that I think you have at present.

Why not pop in to your lockal BM dealer and take a test ride on the Dakar so you can feel the difference. :thumb

Catch up with you soon, Val.

Screen Sorted

Well,
after being blown around the M11 yesterday ( and yes we did decide to pick the bloody hottest day of the year to go for a ride --- oh and this poor couple on their Harley --- full leathers! Hot hot hot!! Talk about melting!! She and I were discussing the merits of leather over waterproof trousers. Not much in it in that heat!! :mmmm ). Anyway - I ordered a dakar screen from Battersea BMW place today for me (Derm not bothered too much) and the guy (Ben) :D gave me a discount of £12 :clap cause I am doing the Pink Way Round!! :bounce1 Isn't that sweet? :clap :clap Should be done in a couple weeks! Good stuff!! I hate that sensation -- and it only happens above 60MPH.
urg!! whats the good of that eh? ;)

Hi Silly Moo

I have the Dakar screen on my 650 was there when i bought it never riden one with a smaller screen but the Dakar screen seems to work well enough and i have done a few long motorway runs with it on, pretty impressed.

Yes :bow a couple people I have spoken with have recomended the Dakar screen and so its worth a go - especially since I can remove it as and when. IN London its not a huge issue :D but my goodness the last few times on the motorway have been real bad - especially on open hills!! (and a particularly long load I went past yesterday!! :( )

Feedback on Dakar screen

To be on the ball...

Just got a Dakar screen myself, to replace my BMW tall screen.

I am 1,80 m. and this screen seems an improvement on the crappy BMW tall one.
Airstream now hits the middle up part of my helmet (which is not so bad) while the other one got the air right in my chin. :spitfire

Also, I have noticed that if I lean forward just a bit, there is no buffeting even at high speed.

Plus, I think this screen it's the best compromise for on/off purposes, not being so much in the way like the other one.

One more thing.....no reflections whatsoever while riding at night (I have also modified my cockpit lights to a greenish colour... :D ).

...last but not least...it looks quite cool :thumb

I bet you'll like it!
