Screens

No idea on the grommets, but I'm sure someone will know. Good luck.

I think the grommets are the same as the two in the bottom fixing of the original screen. That's what I used when I fitted winglets?

Hi Wilsdorf, no need to drill the panels to fit the winglets as there is already a bracket under the panels on the 2010 and onwards t.c. with the holes already in them, so you get the position spot on, all I did was heat up a small screw driver on the gas until it was hot and just push it up through the plastic from the underside. ;)

+1 leaves holes in perfect alignment. Clean up topside then with a hand turn or two of a large drill bit.

Screens are very personal, as has already been said. FWIW I find the standard screen and low seat work just fine, no rain on my visor, minimal buffeting and acceptable noise when using earplugs. With a standard seat on low setting I get some rain on the visor and more buffeting and noise. I'm 5'10 so I can see how the standard screen might not work for taller riders. Have you thought about surgery?

If you think the GS screen is bad just try a Tiger 955, it's genuinely impossible to create more noise and buffeting than the standard screen- but I still do see bikes with it still fitted.

Can anyone confirm that the Givi AF330 fits a 2012 GSA? On their website it only shows as fitting the GS as does the many adverts selling it on the web, no mention of the GSA though??.:nenau

I can confirm that you will need to seriously bodge the L and R fitments OR acquire regular GS L and R fitments.
I went to B&Q for a bunch of hardware just to get it secured on my 2012 GSA. I'm after a set of GS fitments if anyone has some for sale!

With minor bodgery I've fitted the 330 to my GSA.

The Pros: It's quiet and gives good protection from the wind.

The Cons: It makes the exhaust considerably louder (as the wind isn't drowning it out) and much hotter (fine in the winter, baking at present!).

Overall very pleased and it's staying.:thumb

It will fit, you will lose the GSA support bar, if you have a sat nav attached to it then you can get a bar that goes over the clocks, bmw £40. All the GSA screen fitting kit will work apart from the washer thing that goes into the plastic adjusters it will be too long so needs to be cut down or get a GS part for it, from my understanding BMW only sell them as whole kits at about £68, however the results are great, huge difference and can now ride at any speed without the pressure or roar.

Givi 330 on it lowest setting & Standard on it lowest. (sorry for shitty pic)

I had a GS with the Givi and winless...best set up i ever had. Then I moved to a GSA and was very disappointed with the buffeting. I fitted an MRA X Screen which whilst not quite as good as the Givi..is almost but is certainly easier ti fit as it attaches to the existing screen.,,,leaves me and the Mrs with no buffeting at all.

I have what I thought was a Givi AF330 with the sliding top part. It fits to the Adventure without the top screen brace. No issue for me because my brace got bent in a minor(?) falling over.

I have it fitted with Tobinators on the 1st slot. It's even less noisy like that but as others said, the exhaust now sounds loud.

Does anyone make switchable ear plugs so I dont have to feel bunged up at low sped but can be protected at higher speeds.
