As you have gathered by now, it's all very much on the individual's size and preference.
In other words, you're just going to have to spend the money and try it.
Had a Givi, but wasn't keen. Too high for me, even on lowest setting. I like to see what crap I'm about to run over on the road. Also found that in heavy rain, it forced water down the inside of my visor. Your engine will be much louder, too!
Now use an OEM screen in the better months and the taller, cheap screen available on eBay in winter.
Do fancy a tinted standard one...
