Sdoc100 or Muc -Off

Until the demise of Hein Gerike, I used their own brand gel cleaner, then switched to another German product "procycle" sold through "get geared" also a gel approx £19/5 litres. Works well & cheaper than SDoc. Almost ready for some more but find GG have now stopped selling it so am taking a chance with WD40 branded gel cleaner (ebay £15/5 litres) good reviews on Amazon.
I later found a large chain of German m/c shops selling "procycle" for £28/10 litres delivery to uk. Bargain.

I used to use the HG stuff as well, but even that was a bit aggressive for my Aprilia Craponord with its large expanses of polished alloy on the frame and rims. The most important thing with all these cleaners is not to leave it on too long before thoroughly rinsing

Not used it myself but my BMW dealer sells Rhino Goo Fast Action Cleaner. I was looking to see if they sold the BMW recommended Castrol Greentec Cleaner (which I can only find in 1l hand spray size).

I will be switching away from Muc Off as I have noticed a streaking on the cylinder bodies. Before, I thought it was good - could obtain it cheaply in 5l sizes - and seemed to work on my other bikes (previous BMW was an RT so did not notice if it affected the cylinder bodies).

My tuppence worth, all the cleaners out there are good, but based on my recent experience with corrosion and dealing with BMW, "stick" to BMW approved (nudge, wink) or you are giving them wiggle room in a warranty claim. On my other bike's I use SDOC when I can find it at a good price, or Rhino Goo which seems to be bloody good stuff. Demon Tweeks had a BOGOF deal on the Rhino Goo a couple of weeks ago on 5L bottles. The Castrol GreenTec is good to, but can't find it in bulk.

I also use Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner, which is really good stuff and can be bought in bulk at a good price from the likes of www.cleanyourcar.co.uk

Thanks for the heads up,

Won't be using Muc off any more, lucky I've only used it the once on my new bike.

So is Rhino Goo and Castrol GreenTec both BMW approved?.

I bought Castrol GreenTec from my local BMW dealer and have saved the invoice as proof. So I'm guessing it is recommended.

As far as Muc off is concerned I used it for many years (not any more) and feel many of the problems are caused by not following the instructions.

Wurth bike cleaner. :thumb
If I eventually get round to cleaning the BM that is, but it works a treat on my off road bikes.

Wish I'd done some more research on cleaning products. I've managed to ruin my spoked anodised wheels after using Maguirs All Wheel Cleaner. My own fault for only reading the big 'All wheel' on the front, and not the fine print which states 'not suitable for motorcycle wheels' :/

I now have a weekend of polishing in front of me to try do some damage limitation.
