Sea Eagles Are Back In Alba

Having been extinct here since circa WW1, these magnificent birds are back in the wilds of Scotland (well the Fife and Dundee areas are pretty wild maist weekends) thanks to a programme by the RSPB. I saw them being released into the wild earlier in the week (from a secret location in Fife of a' places). They ha' a wingspan of 8ft!

seen them on Rhum a few years ago, foohookin massive birds. aw the wee birds were chasin them, puir things :D
 
saw wan twa year ago crossing Rannoch

an if ye gan doon tae the burn (Forth) alo' Kincardine Bridge ye'll see them on the mud flats.
Was invited to an I.A.M. talk by the RSPB in Stirling yin nicht ,again, twa year ago.
The laud daein the talk wis active in releasing rid Kites (loads up the sma' Glen area) an Sea eagles.
He said then that Fife wiz next to get them (think it wiz east neuk tae Stonehaven area)..
They (the RSPB) have found that although the west coast is less populated there is far better and more feeding for the birds on the east coast :rob
 
They are attacking sheep in Waternish Campbell has had a few killed due to them and presented the pics and a vet''s report

RSPB know better and say it's a dug that's doing it, one that is larger than a sheep

The only dug that size roon here is my nieghbour Angan's St Bernard and that'll no walk the length o itsel nevermind attack a sheep:D

Aros center in Portree has had a live cam on a nest for the past 10 yrs

When it got put in a daftie that worked there told it was fur seagulls

The report I've linked mentions them being reintroduced into Scotland in 1975 so I don't think you'll win any prizes for spotting any in 2002. It does seem that they were extinct here between 1918 and 1975 so I was half right (and half no' right which is how my headmaster used to describe me)

I saw when crossing Rannoch near the ski lift junction wiz mAAAsive - the proverbial barn door. It's tail wiz white and the heed wiz sae pale it hid te be caud white tae - a big burd Josie - imagine wan o them wae a radio controller up its erse. mmm? na wid be ower the radio control weight limit i'm sure.
