My 1979 R100RT petrol tank is rusting and flaking on the inside...

Is it possible to get it sealed internally, without needing to re-paint the outside (which I really don't want!).

Any advice or info. would be good :thumb2

David,
I've used POR-15 on a couple of my classic bike tanks that were allready painted without problems.
Read the instructions carefully before starting, and block the filler cap hole using a plastic bag with a rag inside it.
Don't leave pools of the sealer as it will not go off properly, so when you've coated the inside fully, poor the excess out.

Here's a link, it says up to a 17 litre tank...

Mine's 24 litres, is there a bigger kit I wonder..?

Hi David,
just checked my paper catalogue;

Bike kit S215 upto 4.5 Gallons =20.43l if Imp Gall, if US gall then 17l
Car kit I cant find at the mo'

You can buy extra sealer seperately
S202 will seal 34l
S200 will seal 68l

Get the big kit and do mine while your doing yours and i'll split the cost with you:nenau

You will need the deep cleaner though, the tank has to be chemically clean for it to work.
