I am in a bind as what seat to choose. I have a 29" leg and the BMW stock low seat just does not cut it. Rather than change out the shocks I have been looking at a few seats. Kind of narrowed it down to a TT Kahedo extra low or a Sargent. I have been told that the Kahedo is low but also wide which kind of negates the benefit. Does anyone have these seats and can comment?

Cheers,

Alex .........

Hi Alex..........if your a short arse like me the height can be intimidating to begin with! I used a factory low seat, kindly provided by M.C.E, then when confidence increased, changed back to standard which is a lot more comfortable!

Enjoy

personally after 8 mths of struggling with short legs, i tried new seat, thick soled boots...........i went the wilbers shock way........best thing i ever did............the bike handles like a dream and i'm totally at peace riding it..............lowered my bike 5cm and the shocks were set to my own spec.................worth every penny...........i'm on 5.4....only downside its a barstool to get on the centre stand.........that were the hubby come in handy......
the touratech extra low seat is very very comfy as well.....but its only a inch lower than the bmw low seat....

re seat height

Hi , same inside leg as yourself i went for the sargent excellent quality and extremely comfortable, not cheap i think front and rear cost me £479 but i couldnt recommend it highly enough, Kind Regards John

I have a Sargent seat. I have a 29" inside leg and I find this more comfortable and easier to get on the bike. If that doesn't suit you could try the low Sargent seat

Novice, big of heart but small of stature, has (I think) tried the lot...

Drop him a PM.

Seat

I've just bought a Touratech rider seat 01-044-1012-0, and am very pleased so far, after a couple of hundred miles.

It's about 3/4" lower than the standard BMW seat, with both measured in the 'low' position.

HTH!

30 inch inside leg here with the BMW low seat. At ease when standing still but not too comfortable with the "Asian having a dump" riding position...

Alex - are you worried because you will not be able to put both feet down when stationary?

Have you thought about buying a new set of boots with a thicker heal and sole? (there have been some posts about this before if you do a search) - that will add a wee bit. I think if you soften the shocks that will help too (not sure about that though).

I thin kperhaps you are worrying too much though. You are not short, and putting both feet down is a bit..........well, not necessary.

No I don't need to put both feet on the ground, but I would like to feel a bit more comfortable when I come to a rest at lights and such. At present I can get my toes down with a BMW Low Seat and my suspension set low.

29" inside leg, Low Ohlins shocks ( by 1 inch ) plus low seat and a low Sargent seat for the hols and big miles.
Janie,
i removed my centre stand, ground off the mounting lugs, chopped
off about 3/4" reshapped the tubes to almost flat, so as to refit the mounts and reweld. 1hour job with the tools to hand in my mates garage...
but now it just slips onto the centre stand.
