At last. Just got my 2014 R1200RTLE 3 weeks ago. Recalled start of June, 2 days before I was due to pick it up and 2 weeks before a planned trip to the Black Forrest. I was gutted. They gave me last model RT 90th Anniversary Edition with 1200mls on it as a loan bike. Returned it with 5200mls. It was great and very comfortable. I now have a direct comparison to the new RT. Handling, power, and exhaust note on the new RT is fantastic. What a bike. I have not been able to truly open it up yet as it is booked in for first service. One problem - seat is not as comfortable as previous RT. May not have noticed if I did not have loan RT. Does anyone know if the higher seat or comfort seat is better? What options do BM have? Do they do a comfort seat for the new RT? Web site is not too clear. Dealer is also not too clear. Just need a bit more padding and slightly better leg angle for longer trips.
Thanks

Give it time to bed-in...

After 5300mls, the seat on my RTLC is much more comfy, and i've no complaints now whatsoever.

Oh....and welcome to the forum :thumby:

Welcome AMB!

I had a 2013 RT and never thought the seat was very comfortable. I now have a 2014 RTWC and whilst the seat is not a revelation by any means I think it is slightly more comfortable. What has been interesting is that, with a healthy dose of cynical scepticism, I used the "seat height calculator" on the motorrad website and it recommended that I have the seat on the lowest setting. I had it on the high, so I changed it and the seat position is much more comfortable as I am not thrown forwards so much and seem to sit more evenly on it. Also, my knee position is much more comfortable and I am not stretching my legs at 80mph (which is less than ideal).

Puggy.

I swapped the standard seat for the high seat option, which I find more comfortable - more arse padding and slightly less knee bend perhaps???
