You must have short leggs what is your inside leg measure and do you have ESA fitted on your bike as some lower seats wont fit?

I'm 5' 10" with 31" inside leg and I have no trouble with the stock seat on the low setting. It's a damn sight more manageable than the 1150 RT I used to ride because the GS is narrower. Are you sure you have it adjusted right. ESA setting does make a difference. So check that too.

I ve put a BMW low seat on mine and it's made all the difference I need.
I'm only 5'7" and comfortably get the balls of my feet down (had to be careful how I said that :). I actually find it more comfortable than the standard seat, although that might just be because the standard seat was brand new. Phil

The BMW low seat is a solution, but i don't find it very comfy for long rides.
I currently use a standard GS seat on my GSA, which works fine for me.
I'm 5'8" with a 30" inside leg..ooh..er.

My ten penneth

I`ve a lowered sergeant seat on my GSA and a lowered OEM on my GS so I guess I can offer an opinion, if it helps in any way, on both when compared to the original seats:

OEM lowered - actually quite good and gives you better leg extension when stood still and holding the bike up.

Sergeant lowered - much better to use with an airhawk and gives a better `spead` for `ones` arse :D but not as good as the OEM one when extending your legs when still.

As an aside (AND I LOVE MY BM TO BITS :bow :bounce1) but the OEM seat which came with my 2010 GSA is AWFUL - what were they thinking?

Big negative - it`s like riding a gixxer with cow horn handle bars!

I`ve also had my GSA lowered...........

I'm going to test ride a GS and GSA on Thursday and that's what the guys at Charles Hurst BMW recommend. I'm 5 11 with 32" inside leg so I'm gonna try it against the OEM seat too, see what suits best. let yous know!

SPRINGS AND PRELOAD

hi all
just measured my inside leg its 31, every one else is fine with this and can reach the floor .....checked the rear ple load and dropped it back 10 clicks , now have a extra 10 to 15 mill under foot. not sure how many clicks from full preload its supposed to be . i weigh 13.5 stone , just had a look at the front spring while i was out in the gararge and the front preload is two from the high setting ?.maybe if i drop that one back one it will give more under foot as well?.:eek

I am a short a*se.
I have a standard 08 GS with a BMW low seat.
I found that if I took off some of the preload on the front shock as well as the back I have no problem. can flat foot both sides.
Also cant have many nerves in my backside as I find the BM low seat quite comfortable.

If you wish to come over and try my low seat you are welcome, I am just north of Plymouth

I ride a 2009 GSA fitted with Low Sargent seat, i'm 5'8"ish and 29" inside leg and this suits me just fine. I also have ESA and find this combination works great and tend to have the bike set for Comfort esp around town. I do switch to Sport mode (waits for derisory comments :augie) when on open road as this gives firmer ride.
Originally I tried the BMW Low Seat which was fine except I could only manage about 50 miles before my arse went to sleep, however some people get on fine with these seats. The low seats often come up on here so may be worth posting in the Wanted section or borrowing one for a day or two from your dealer before spending £300 for an aftermarket one.

seat

hi smb
many thanks for the offer , off to work in a minute and with the new suspension settings, fingers crossed it will be ok .:D
thanks piston.;)

Hi All,

I've got a 2008 GSA with ESA and I'm 5' 9" with a ridiculous 28" Inside Leg (I kid you not) I ride with the standard seat on its lowest setting. I have the same stance when stationary as Dani Pedrosa lol.

I'm currently considering all the options mainly because of comfort, yesterday I did a 350 mile round trip and with about 50 miles to go my ar5e was killing me. I've tried a BMW low seat and for me its even less comfortable than the standard GSA seat as you you sit in rather than on most of the low seats.
