How do you tell if a GS1150 is fitted high a low seat or high seat ...how much difference is there

Low seat has a very marked dip at the front - not so the other one. About 2" difference I'd guess.

I drop the bike if it's got a high seat.

Your seat will have a part number stamped by the moulder on the underside, If you post this number into this forum, others may be able to confirm what hieght your seat is!
Do you mean normal seat on high or low setting OR do you really mean the low seat option (as in different shape)?
