Seat nets...do they keep you cool?

I used a cool cover last year for a month long ride round the Balkans, every day was 30c plus up to 38c and it definitely worked and was a bit comfier as well

Report ………………………………………………..

Not been out on the bike yet, just had another go at fitting it again, so it looks better for Nutty :D

Lets see if it works as advertised :D

That Duck seat aint the comfiest seat around you know , mine felt more like a ditch as its too sculpted , maybe you should try one with your new pants ..:beerjug::P

One immediate thing I'm not happy with....

I washed the bike today and left the Cool Cover in place.

Dried the bike off with an absorbent cloth... like always. Then put bike in garage.

It's been in there hours now and the bike is completely dry.... except for the cool cover, which is still damp.

So it better not hold water, or it'll be a stinking nuisance.... :(

Do all yours hold water like a sponge and feel damp hours after drying the bike?

Press your hand onto it, comes away damp to the touch?

Is it a proper cool cover pal ?

Yep.

I ordered it from cool covers, it was delivered by cool covers and packaged by cool covers.

So are you saying yours doesn't hold water?

Don't know yet pal.Have only just fitted it and yet to try it.

I was a cheep skate and bought a set of real fake or is it fake real hair nets for Helga, from a dodgy second hand site, which stated the items will be sent from Manchester, hurrah keep the country going. Parcel arrives 3 days post ordering it, with some funky writing on it, definitely not mancunian. Open said parcel yep even the labels have this style of writing on them (*♂️doh fallen for that trick again)

Anyway put the hokey hair net covers on, and yep arrived at work with a nice cool feeling in and around the Crown Jewels no betty swollocks for me today, as for holding water post washing no idea, haven’t washed Helga yet with her hair nets on yet

On my seat covers, it feels like two woven stretchy plastic honeycomb shaped layers, seperated by plastic 'hair' fibres about 8mm deep. Which gives it a 'bounce' when compressed.

I dont think the material itself is absorbing water, but the mesh network is holding tiny water droplets, hours after washing.

For me, this'll be a nuisance as it'll need a good shake before putting away. Which means I cant leave it on the bike.... oh well.

It's eaily remedied as I just wont leave it on when I wash the bike.

.... or put a plastic bag over the seat before hosing the bike down, keep the water off it.

I have to see how comfy it is yet. Hopefully might cure my ass soreness although the airhawk wasn't bad.

or just take the covers off when you wash your bike,it only takes a couple of minutes.
