I’d think by putting a sheepskin on top that would do away with the benefit of airflow through the cool cover.

Ahh ok, i'd imagine it would work well for that. Mine are comfy and no numb bum as there usually is.
Glad to see you bought the right one , not the copy . Buy from the uk They work , trust me .![]()
Report......
Right then Stick,
I was getting ready to lynch you over these Cool Covers after your 'Trust Me' recommendation.
Cost me £130 for two (R1200 & Africa Twin DCT), whereas my mate bought his for £17 (for a knockoff copy) and they look exactly the same.
BUT, having inspected both in quite some detail today, there ARE differences between cheap version and Cool Covers original.
In Summary:-
Cool Covers original appears to have a much heavier weave thickness, it provides more resistance against crushing, the cavities are bigger also which may all contribute to better airflow once sat on it.
I CAN FEEL AIRFLOW underneath my bottom, todays temps were 15 to 25 degrees. So nice warm mid day.
Having prodded and squished, we both came to the same conclusion that Cool Covers are probably 'technically' better.
But enough to justify the cost? No.
You could potentially fit two Chinese Cheapies to double the thickness and crush resistance, and still come out of it saving '£££££££££
Now I've seen the difference myself, I'm not unhappy as they're NOT exactly the same. But still wincing over the cost difference.
Would I buy them again though.... YES, as they do work and no point the cheap one squishing so much it doesn't work as well.. but it's a RIPOFF price in comparison![]()
I bought one to fit my Rallye seat that cost me less than £4 delivered so even better value![]()
Crazy prices. I think China is trying to ruin worldwide industry now it has all our design patents. It'll end in tears....

They've been using these covers in SE Asia for years, its the overpriced branded ones that are the rip-offs![]()

Told you , look you can afford the better one , all others that buy the cheap one can only comment that they saved money , the cool covers is more expensive but its better , and to be a complete Tosser , I paid a lot of money for my bikes / bikes , so the saving is irrelevant , I prefer quality to cheap , that why for instance I don't but cheap tyres or riding gear as there is a reason for that as well.

I do find it odd when people spend £15-£20k on a bike, then try and get the cheapest stuff to fit to it. Most peculiar.![]()
Or spend there money on fookin Zombie pigeons
Exactly pal..Can understand if they are from ScotlandOr spend there money on fookin Zombie pigeons

Hey, don't knock my Covid Zombie pigeons, they're a strategic highly important tactically hot accessory.

Exactly. Some are not spending 15-20k. They are spending £200-300 pm.
In my opinion the genuine Cool Cover is better than the cheap version. I’ve had both and I’m on my second Cool Cover.
For me they really do work by being more comfortable and stops you getting a sweating arse. I haven’t bothered to change my standard seat to a Sargent seat as I’m happy enough with how comfortable it is fitted over the standard seat.
Couple of things to be aware of is that my Cool Cover wore away the edges of the Sargent seat on my previous bike. And on my latest bike it has impregnated a cross cross pattern into the top of my red seat.
So ultimately it will destroy your seat so it actually costs about £3-400
I now have a thin perforated rubber mat under my Cool Cover.
The Touratech underpants are rubbish, so I’ve ordered a pair of Moto Skiveez, as I want to be like Arsey. Not sure I’m ready to deface my Italian beauty with a cool cover just yet.
I have just received some bmw ones.
