Thought I would share some pictures and comments. BMW stock, Touratech "Fresh Touch" standard, Sargent "World Sport" standard; mounted in high/high position, with BMW stock passenger seat:

Note that the fabric is glued to the foam only on the Touratech seat, the others have some air between fabric and foam on some spots. Sargent is highest at the front, lowest at the rear.

Notes:
- Weight: stock 1'520g, TT 2'180g, Sargent 2'060g (the latter includes the provided LED flashlight)
- TT has a rather grippy fabric, the Sargent regular is more slippery, BMW stock is somewhere inbetween
- foam: TT is hardest, then Sargent, then stock (softest)
- seat pan: the TT looks rather hand-made, it also does not fit very well on my bike (needs some forcing)

Which do I like the most: the jury is still out on this, but probably the Sargent. Definitely not stock!
What I don't like on the TT is that ridge on the rear part of the seat - utter nonsense as far as I'm concerned. And for my taste the fabric is just a bit too sticky/grippy. On the other hand the regular CarbonFX fabric on the Sargent seat is a tad too slippery, maybe the optional Duratex would have been better?

Thanks for the comparison. Is there much difference in width compared to stock? Does it make any difference to how easy it is to get your feet on the ground when using the Sargent and the Touratech?

Not on my GSA but other bikes Ive had Sargent, BMW Comfort and Corbin, I liked the latter the most.

But the standard R1200GSA seat isn't so bad, unlike the standard F800GS, which is a thing of torture.

Of course its total subjective, each persons ass is different.

I've got the low Sargent. It's a fair bit wider than the stock BMW seat and that makes it a bit harder to get your feet down than the BMW seat...and I don't have fat thighs. I had a local upholsterer narrow down the sides of the nose of the seat as much as he could and that's helped a bit.

Ah, that's useful to know. I'll drop it from my list of goodies if it needs to be modified.

Much will depend on the length of your inside leg and how bulky your thighs are. I'm 29 - 30" on a good days with slender thighs....yes, I know this isn't a dating site.

I've never tried a Corbin on my bike but I had one on a VFR and I borrowed a pre LC 1200 with one in Oregon a few years back. If anything it was even wider in relation to the OEM BMW seat than my Sargent was before it was modified.

Good timing in this post, I just ordered the Sargent yesterday and am waiting delivery. Thanks.

Seat width at the front is approximately the same on all three. Hight is not - stock is considerably lower than the other two.
Ground reach also very much depends on where you sit on the seat: the regular Sargent is most difficult to flat foot IF you are sitting at the very back because of its width. Due to its slippery surface this will almost never happen though (brake and you WILL slide forwards). On the Touratech you will not slide, so you have to adjust seating position more consciously. Stock is the lowest and narrowest of them all at the back as well, so getting your feet on the ground is easiest on that one.

I purchased this BMW Rallye seat recently.
Nicely put together and comes with extra bit to go over the rear luggage rack.

Seems slightly narrower.

Tried it over a couple of hundred miles today and didn't get on with it. Shame as like the look of it.

Thanks for the comparison - great photos. I'm off on my long trip this year and I think the Sargent with Performance Plus (with the DTX) will be my choice. The heating and storage box will be super handy.

Have you had any wet rides with it? What kind of water resistance does the Sargent have?

Appreciate the info. I've fitted a low TT to replace the BMW one on my TC GSA and it's fine but I was considering a low Sargent to see if it was better but not if it's wider. I don't have fat thighs either (I hope nobody on here is interested anyway!) and 31 - 32" inside leg but after decades of riding a low H-D I like to get my feet on the ground, as they say.

Yes, but none of them included prolonged and really heavy downpour, and the seat is still quite new. That being said - nothing negative to report. I could not see any water being soaked up by the foam, or 'wet seams' or dripping after the rain stopped.
Also, after a bit of use and 2x washing with soap the seat fabric is less slippery (but still not as sticky as the stock cover or the TT one).

You're welcome to try mine if you want to come through to NE Fife at some point. :)

I got it from Nippy Normans.
