I have just come to the realization that I should have gone for the low seat on my GS. I'm not short by any means but I don't like not being able to get my feet flat on the ground.

So, a quick search for a new seat revealed that I would have to spend £150-£250... :blast:eek:

After much cursing a new plan has emerged. My mate has a low seat and he is very tall and wants a standard one . Problem solved I hear you say . Not really, his seat is grey and tatty and will need re-covering (mine is black and brand new!). Again much cursing:mad: .

Now to my question (finally!). I have found a company called motorcycle seatworks. see www.motorcycleseatworks.co.uk. As you can see they offer a full re-trim and "comfort" seat shaping for £85. Seems a bargain but it would be nice to hear if anyone has any info on these guys. Over to you.... :)

Not had any experience of them, sorry, but have you had a look on ebay, including "worldwide" just in case there's someone in Germany selling what you're after?

Tailspin...........try posting the same question in the North West forum or doing a search there. I think Les Wassall can recommend a guy somewhere in the Sandbach area and someone also previously posted a recommendation from the Southport / Preston sort of neck of the woods.:thumb

Going to see how closely they can match the seat. Hopefully wont be far apart. So many choices.... :)

There's currently a low seat on ebay....?

I'm not the seller, nor do I know who is, so please don't blame me if no good, just thought it might be worth you having a look? :nenau

I had my ZZR600 seat re-done by motorcycle seatworks, the seat looks excellent and was a lot more comfortable than the stock seat. :thumb2

I had my 1150n gs seat recovered at motorcycle seatworks. Very good. He will select and shape the foam to suit your size and weight. I needed a higher seat with more support and he did a fine job. He also has a selection of materials for covering, you should be able to match although I would be tempted to do both seats.

Reccomended. Mind you when you see where he works you might well question why you go to work yourself....you'll see!

+1:thumb for Digger my mate had his Daytona seat done there and he was fine on a 550 mile run through France in one hit, he reckons it was the best mod he has had. I am popping over tomorrow to have a chat about my 1200 seat, will keep you posted.

Digger seats without a doubt! top job - best price and top quality! Speak to Dave about what you want done :thumb2

Used them for my last 2 seats ( to make them taller!) and done a good job - recomended :thumb2

Pictures of the 2 seats that motorcycleseatworks did for me :thumb2

Thanks guys, seems like there are a number of good options. Will be nice to reach the floor more easily. Almost dropped it on the last camping trip but managed to find the superhuman strength to haul it back vertical. :) Would have been embarrassing, right outside a busy cafe, loads of bikers!! :blast
