I also prefer coffee rather than tea:cool:

I had a Corbin on my VFR800 and I've ridden an R1200 GS in Oregon that was fitted with one. Both of them were reminiscent of horse saddles and looked and felt like they'd been built by a blacksmith. The Corbin on the GS, in particular was obviously made for fat ass Merkins. It was wider than the BMW seat and made it harder to get my feet down.

I've got a low Sargent on my GS and it looks and feels better than OEM and is much more comfortable.

I've never used either, i have a local vehicle prototype trimmer make my seats how i want them for me and it costs a 1/4 of both of those seat firms. bagster quoted me £400 once to do a seat for me. They were surprised when iasked if they were supplying a new seat. No was the answer that was just to remodel the one i had told them whee to go

I prefer the original seat... completely rebuilt specifically to suit me and my needs rather than another - "you get what your given"

I paid £80 and now.. the seat height is 38" - which is exactly what I wanted.

I also have an XXH Touratech seat - also modified and used for when I carry a pillion - that is nowhere near as comfortable as the remade original - but was very cheap 2nd hand - so no great loss.

Neither the Corbin or Sargent figured on my radar as they're too similar in height to OE. in fact... the Sargent is an inch lower - though that is offset slightly by being wider.

No good at all for me.

Height is a different thing

You can't compare seats with a write up. Different arses suit different seats. The only way you'll find what suits you is to try them.
And you can't do that reading about them.

I know, but some people might find an answer to their measurement questions in that thread

Like you.............I'm a Corbin man

A seat that is good for 8 hours riding, with fuel and refreshment stops

I've tried Sargents, but I find them good for about 1.5-2hours only

Find my Sargent all day comfortable,my shoulders pack up long before my backside.

Height is a different thing

height seems to be the biggest issue for most people eying the 1100/1150.. though admittedly for many its that the seat is too high - thats not cured by either after market seat either - but that aside. it still makes more sense to me to have the original seat remade to suit by a specialist than take a risk on either the Corbin or Sargent. get it wrong and thats an expensive mistake.
