as i suspected.

Wonder why they didn't have any Laser stuff on display then?

BTW, have a look at the Arrow website at www.arrow.it with useful good info on the Titanium Rally system for the GS. Apex Leisure sell the full system for £430, but takes a week or two to get in.

i got mine for about S$1000, it includes the Y-piece,muffler & mounting parts.Very nice finish on the Y-piece,can be dismantled. connecting parts r all spring pulled. the diameter of the Y-piece is bigger than the sebring. Try it, u will not regret:beerjug:

Got a Sebring Y-piece fitted to my Adv last summer (supplied & fitted by Br@cken). No problems at all (original end can), but then, it's just a Y-piece - not exactly rocketry, is it?:D

MikeO , Am I understanding you right, you have removed the big lump collector box, replaced it with a y piece and stuck the original BMW end can back on ? Have I understood you right ? If I have , what has this done to a) the exhaust sound b) the electronic engine management settings ?

Cheers

Gecko,

yep, that's what I did. Engine management system doesn't seem to have noticed (did all the 're-set TPS & Motronic etc'). Slight backfiring on the over-run (probably needs to be better sealed at the can joint). Exhaust note is a little louder, but not significantly so. I only did it to allow to run on any type of petrol, like the Adv is meant to be able to:D

Mine pops and bangs on the over run anyway . Much obliged to you I might give this a go - nothing else to do with all this bloody snow around at the moment.

Y pieces et al

Hi Folks,
Got round at last to fitting the Y piece and Remus titanium end can. A piece off piss once I had all the right tools, ( the Torx socket was the only thing I had to borrow). I couldn't believe how well it all went together, no bending straining, ( and thats just me!). Did the TPS test, didn't bother with the Fuse 5 Motronic check. I smeared the exhaust pipes where they connect to the Y piece with Hermetite exhaust jointing compound, definately not that stuff used for bodging exhaust holes , that will not work.

Result; Looks the Mutts nuts, sounds awesome. No backfiring or farting at all and ticks over as when it was on th OE kit. Well pleased with the result and as for power increase its like a different bike.

The Cat weighs a ton by comparison, a sop to the tree huggers and best slung away.

Just a tip re the 02 sensor. I found that if you disconnect the cable fastener adjacent to the rear brake and cut the zip tie which is just under the tank on the right hand side, ( You need to raise the tank but no problems), you get enough spare to allow the dreaded cat to plummet earthwards without stretcvhing anything. also the wires are loose enough to allow you to unscrew the 02 sensor carefully without causing kinks or breaks.

As mentioned earlier before screwing the 02 into the Y piece twist in sufficient turns so that when it is tight there are no twists in the wires.

Best mod I've ever done and far more satisfying than the dealer charging BM labour fees.

Cheers David:beerjug:

sebring/remus one of the same

I used to import bike parts back in the early 90s Sebring and remus are one of the same although there may be minor differences branding etc.

Sebring are an Austrian company and have been making automotive exhausts for years i have one on my 1150 as well as having a 1979 xs1100yam in corner of my garage with a period 4into 1 which must have been manufactured in the early eighties still in good nick.

My personal disappointment is that GS rider dont get the range of choice that the race rep boys do!
