The BMW light switch for the factory fog lights has a second unused rocker switch position. As I'm about to start to wire up the Hella HIDs I thought I would buy a second rocker with its pretty green LED to mount in the BMW switch housing.

That will be £54.50 Sir. WHAT! Apparently it comes with a 'wiring loom' (looks like a couple of wires to me) which is the reason for the expense. And this is just the rocker, not the complete item with housing.

Anyone any idea where to source one of these at a slightly more reasonable cost?

hahahah .. yeah I have heard that before.. I asked about teh same thing when looking for switch for my Hella HID driving lights a couple of months back. BMW guy even told me to sit down before he told me the price. I heard £53 and promptly left the premises.

I have a temporary solution in place at the moment, so I would be grateful if these switches can be sourced at a proper price.

I mean they must cost BMW all of £0.50.

I assume they come from a factory in China somewhere... if i could only find the factory and buy 10 of them, I am sure it would be £5 plus postage all up.

Why not try ...

... Vehicle Wiring Products, they seem to sell lots of, erm, well, vehicle wiring products ;)

Actually, have used them myself for bits and they are very good :thumb2

Word of advice, re the switch :rob

I purchased one and started to wire up my PIAA 002, when it came to connecting the switch it started to smoke and now won't work. I believe that there is some circuitry in the switch that is wired to the can-bus and lighting circuit

Be careful !!!!!!!

If you do get the switch and manage to wire it successfully please let me know

Cheers
