security isolating switch for fuel pump

thanks Steptoe for replying to a post a few days ago, suggesting fitting a switch in the side of the airbox to isolate the fuel pump. Anyone done this and can tell me if its best to fit the inline switch to the relay or the fuse (both under seat and nearby) if so which colour wire to the relay is best to add the switch and what ampage switch would be best ? (presumably a key switch ?)
I could probably work it out, but reading various posts it seems different colour wires have been suggested as 'live' and I dont want to fry any electronics !!

I didn't suggest the airbox, i said the relay/fuse box
