I know theres been a few threads on this topic but if you havent checked your fuel pump for corrosion do so...

Zapada (Malc) told me to check mine .I had a look yesterday and it was corroded :( So I cleaned it up and sprayed it with WD :thumb2

If you search under fuel pump you'll find a post by Civil with photos ...

Not wanting to appear even more ignorant than usual, but where actually is this on the bike. Any pics showing it's location for us less spannerwise Tossers?

I was just about to ask the same thing. :augie

Pipster, could you also tell us what tools you used for the stripdown (to add to my touring kit)

Thanx. :thumb2

Take the right hand body panel off (looking at it from the front of bike). Sitting on top of the tank you'll find a round plastic vented cap. Un-screw cap and you'll find the corroded part in there:thumb2

Do you mean you cleaned the spade connector?

So, ..
remove the seat
remove left side cover & panel
remove left side fuel tank cover
remove pump cover

There are 2 connectors here,.. the fuel pump power & fuel gauge sender.

Is this the connector where your corrosion was?

A bit confusing really 'cos Civil mentioned corrosion on a relay!

For those that haven't seen the threads, two aother places to keep an eye on:

Back light connections and bulb holder.

Aux. socket

Any more for any more?

Andres
