I’ve been getting insurance quotes fir my new 1250 and one of the questions asked is about security.

What is the standard security on the 2022 GS?

Has it got an alarm / immobiliser/ tracker?

Motorrad insurance want a Datatool traKING Ad. Is this standard?

I could call my dealer of course (and I will) but they’re closed today.

It's got an immobiliser. the alarm is an option and I think the Datatool Stealth is no longer standard.

Standard is an immobiliser - transponder in the coded key or keyless fob

Alarm and tracker would be dealer fitted accessories.

Mine was Datatagged as standard, dont know if that is standard BMW or just my dealer (Jeffries). No alarm or tracker as standard.

Data tag and engine immobiliser are standard.

Alarm and any form of tracker are after market add ons.

My 1250 came with inbuilt Immobiliser ( which I believe all news vehicles have to have now?) Datatag and Datatool tracker. That was back in May.
I recall reading that the standard tracker was dropped, possibly as a result of supply issues.

When did it change re Trackers? Both my 1250 and 850 came with them as standard, including first year subscription….

New bikes no longer have them as standard, my bike was a July build and Williams said that it was towards the last of the builds that had trackers as standard.

Yep just ordered a new bmw, tracker no longer fitted as standard

I would take a guess, the tracker supplier was doing so free of charge, expecting a big take up on subscription after the first 'free' year.

I would also guess, too few took the subscription.

I thought the service from Scorpion was excellent.

I agree. The service is good but the device takes quite a toll on the battery on a bike not used regularly.
