I'll have to post a few pictures of my current project. It's not a GS though.
My mate sadly died just before Christmas. I've inherited his BMW's so thats three more Airheads to the collection.
One of the bikes is an R90/6 that was stolen last year. The kids who stole it obviously didn't know where the ignition was so gave the tank a bashing with a brick and dumped the bike in somebodies garden.
The least I can do is give the old girl a new lease of life. Dermot had planned to do something with the bike once he got it back but that all went out the window.
I got the bike running again last weekend and took it for a spin
And then started the stripdown
On it's way
Box of manky bits
That tanks going to take some sorting out.
The frame and other parts went off for powder coating on Monday. Collected today, all blasted and looking good for £70
End of play Tonight
The plan is to fit an S fairing, Corbin seat and spray the bike in that ivory white from the old BM's. Plenty of new fasteners and shiny bits needed. I've got a pair of Stainless Commando pipes for it as well - now they do sound nice
Something like this bike of Speed Kings
I could do with a big garage like the rest of you seem to have.
