I'll have to post a few pictures of my current project. It's not a GS though.

My mate sadly died just before Christmas. I've inherited his BMW's so thats three more Airheads to the collection.

One of the bikes is an R90/6 that was stolen last year. The kids who stole it obviously didn't know where the ignition was so gave the tank a bashing with a brick and dumped the bike in somebodies garden.

The least I can do is give the old girl a new lease of life. Dermot had planned to do something with the bike once he got it back but that all went out the window.

I got the bike running again last weekend and took it for a spin

And then started the stripdown

That tanks going to take some sorting out.

The frame and other parts went off for powder coating on Monday. Collected today, all blasted and looking good for £70

End of play Tonight

The plan is to fit an S fairing, Corbin seat and spray the bike in that ivory white from the old BM's. Plenty of new fasteners and shiny bits needed. I've got a pair of Stainless Commando pipes for it as well - now they do sound nice

Something like this bike of Speed Kings

I could do with a big garage like the rest of you seem to have.

Nice one Rob....I finally ( if ever:rolleyes:) finished my G/S PD today..well almost...some monkey has rounded off the little fork drain plug ( heavens knows it should only be about 7lb/ft:rolleyes: ).....but with her new boots on and lots of s/s goodies ( a 'must' for the discerning airhead owner :) ). My 're-builds' arn't in your class though:(

I'll have a bimble on it tomorrow and post some piccies....then put it to one side and finish off my other 'standard' g/s ( have screen/fork brace/clock and....ahem tax for it now :augie)

out of interest , what would that be worth?

In it's original condition maybe £500. The electrics and switch gears are all knackered and the rear crank oil seal is shot leaking oil all over the clutch. The Konis have lost their damping. On top of that The R90/6 isn't a very exciting bike. This one has had the head ported and still only puts out 50 BHP according to the Dyno.

This was the most expensive one I've seen Ebay Link so maybe with the S fairing, Corbin seat and a good quality rebuild you would be looking around £3k

I'm planning on fitting Dellortos, 9.5:1 pistons and a 90S cam to liven the bike up.

Lovely things to work on though :)

It's on it's way back together.

First chance I get the paintwork and fairing are all going off to Colwick. I've been told the Corbin seats take 10 weeks to arrive which is no good at all. I've spoken to Dave at Digger seats so thats another part taken care of.

Back to the garage for more cleaning and fettling then...

thats feckin ace:cool::cool::cool:

ive been thinking if i survive this years finacial bollox i might look for an old airhead to apply some TLC to:thumb2

Tweeet. Extra inspiration to get that manky old R100 in the garage sorted.

It's no longer leaking like the Exxon Valdez c/o some new fuel taps and pipes (and when fuel was £1.20 a litre that was a pretty frightening experience). Now just to fix the brakes, replace the stands and it might actually pass MoT

What bars are those Boxertricks? I'm struggling to get my bar mounted master cylinder behind the fairing. I may have to go back to the under tank setup.

I'm sorry I don't know what they were fitted to originally, they were handlebars that had been knocking about the place for years.
