Having followed the postings of a similar thread on this website, including all the humorous postings, I thought I should have a go too.
Slightly different buddy preferences:
Must be a spirited rider, ignore my age when you look it up, I don't hang about. You can smoke if you want but don't expect me to wait about if you're a chain smoker.
I ride nearly every week in Mid/North Wales throughout the year. I do two or three trips per annum to the mountains in Europe normally lasting 2 weeks each.
No camping, no boring large hotel chains and as little motorways as possible. I stick to tarmac and hunt out remote B&Bs in the mountains wherever I can.
And no, I don't stop to look at museums and the like but I do slow down for spectacular scenery.
Oh and one final point, I like the fact that there are now so many great touring bikes out there, none of the "we all ride the same bikes business". As long as you can keep up you're welcome.
It will be great to hear from like minded souls.

Hello
Have a look at the June/July Pyrenees trip.
We are 8 (2 from the forum, plus me [ also from this GS er forum - guess that makes 3 - doh! ] ) and another 5 guys from Devon (Exeter / Exmouth area).
Last year we split into a fast and medium speed group.
This year the faster guys are going for 2 weeks, and the others for 1 week.
Bike wise, so far we have 4 BMW's (inc 3 GS's) a couple of fireblades a ZZR etc.
Anyway, have a look at the thread, maps, photos etc and let us know if you are interested in the Wales weekend or the Pyrenees trip.
Cheers!

Hi Jules and thank you for your reply. Sounds like my cup of tea, will look at it tonight or tomorrow (when it's raining). Just come back from a full days riding in mid Wales in this absolutely gorgeous weather. Awesome.
Thanks again.

I'm in the Philippines for a few days scuba diving.
Weather quite nice here! 30+C during the day.
Cheers!

Hi Jules,
This is unfortunately not going to work for me as I'll be on an Austrian ride in mid July. Regrettably I'm not even going to be able to meet up with you on your Welsh trial run as I'll be in Germany on a group ride in May. Hopefully another time things will work out better.
Thanks anyway for inviting me.
Cheers

Live in mid-Wales, near Montgomery- happy to do a few miles on the Marches with you as long as there's a coffee stop...:thumb

That's a great idea, I will probably escape for another ride tomorrow morning (Monday 28/3) so could meet at McDonalds in Newtown for breakfast or Crossgates if you want a little warm-up ride first. I did the B4518 a couple of days ago, always a great ride for scenery, but then again so is all of Mid Wales.
PS I'm a bit worried about that sweaty sock though.

Sadly I'm on family duty tomorrow...:blast and my domestic manager usually wants more notice for authorized absence.
Sweaty Sock is not literal, thankfully. I'll explain when we eventually meet;)
Monmouth-Newtown good run...:thumby:

Sandy

Sorry you cant make it Sandy. I'm sure we'll meet soon.
Any other riders in the area wanting to meet up tomorrow?
