hey i might be nuerotic (probably am because i am still running in) but my bike an 1150gsa (only done 250KILs) is differant around 3000rpm. Seems to surge and stabilise surge then stabilise ad nauseam. any ideas
Thankyou

If it's the twin spark model it shouldn't be doing that. The earlier single spark models were prone to it. Get your local dealer to check the balance of the throttle bodies - that should cure it. :thumb

They all do that sir..

lol..
Mine did that... till i had it in for its 12k (miles) service.. then came out from with a new coding plug and was better.. cannot say for certain what actually fixed it.. the coding plug that was apparently a BMW recall.. on my 2000year 1150gs, or the service in which the valves etc were done..

I still get a slight surge now and then..

HOWEVER! my friends 1150gs same year and same model, had problem with a throttle body which caused the same thing and there was an associated noise with it. Suggest you have alisten to the throttle bodies.. and check when your valve etc were last serviced.

Please note, i am not a mechanic, so, i am only going on past experience.. hope it helps.. Good luck..

surging

I have a gsa and it surges as well. took it to a dealer who said that the throttle bodies were the cause and this will be sorted on the service I have booked for next month. Having a remus on does'nt help ( I think) so I don't expect it to be perfect but they said it will be better. cheers :clap

Thanks , there is a bit of ascociated noise with the surging so i think perhaps you are right. Will ring mr Beemer today ,see if he wants it iback. Other wise hang in till 6oo mile inspection. :thumb :)

BB Chip

My 02 Single spark GSA surged even after the 12k service so i fitted a BB fueling chip and Y piece and the bike is transformed. No surging, Much smoother all round and revs more freely :thumb

Surge

Mine does it...
55 GSA SE... 3000rpm, 4th gear - like clockwork, everyone I speak to seems to think the TB's are out of balance, mines low milage - so figured I'd wait 'til the next service before I worried, that way it's had more time to bed in as a whole... unless of course it gets worse.

All the old ladies in my local supermarket surge when pushing shopping trollies.

they bimble along down the side of the aisle, you attempt to pass them, and they surge sideways into you - is there any known cure ??

That's ASDA for you ;-)... might be toxins left over from the KLG building?

Did you know, KLG were the only place that made the spark plugs for Concord .

Not many people know that . ;)

I didn't!... Kind of miss the place as a landmark, sounds better than ASDA.
