seized bolts

i got two seized 5 mm bolts with head sheared off on which holds on the plastic front engine cover there,s enough sticking out so tried to vice grip em out , after much wd 40, still stuck , any idea,s, please dont say drill and re tap

wd40 isnt a penetrating release oil so better with plusgas . bit awkward there as ya cant apply any heat . try plusgas if not then you can guess but i aint gonna say it

Slap a load of gripfil on it, you won't need those bolts

Drill chuck

I had the same problem last week, Plus gas and left it for a few days, then borrowed a mates drill chuck, this gripped really tight and wound the stud out.

If you don't have any plusgas, diesel makes a very good penetrating fluid.

Try running the engine for a while before assaulting the bolts. The engine casings, being aluminium alloy, should expand more than the bolts, which might just release them.

Ok used plus gas , ran engine to hot, got one out an had to drill an tap the other not bad,can't win em all, thanks for the reply,s
