I have a 2009 F800GS with 87,000 miles on it. The right hand side chain adjuster has seized in the swing-arm. (A lot of the miles are winter miles so the bolt must have corroded in).

Over the last 3 months I have sprayed a lot of DW40 rust release penetrant down the side of the bolt. This has not worked. A local bike shop has tried heat on the end of the swing-arm to try and budge it, however this still has not worked.

Any ideas on how to release this without removing the swing-arm??

this once happened on a tdm i had and the guy living next door cool as a cucumber drilled it out but i dont think i would have been as confident .:bow

hitting it on the end firmly in line with the bolt with a decent hammer could shock it loose enough to start to get a bit of a turn on it then gradually working it left and right until it's loose enough to turn out. you could couple this with heating the bolt at the same time. i have utilized this method with success a few times.
