Self cancelling turn signals

If you read page 74 of the owners manual, it is all explained.

f button 1 has been pressed to z the right or left, the turn indic-
ators are automatically switched off under the following circum- stances:
Speed below 30 km/h: after 50 m distance covered.
Speed between 30 km/h and 100 km/h: after a speed-de- pendent distance covered or in case of acceleration.
Speed over 100 km/h: after flashing five times.
If button 1 is pressed to the right or left slightly longer, the turn
Indicators only switch off automat- ically once the speed-dependent distance covered is reached.

I can find this in the handbook for the 1250, but not for the 1200.

Hi

Its for the 1250.

If I remember correctly, the dealer was able to adjust the distance/time prior to self cancelling on the older models.

Its in the manual that we don't read, depends on how you push the button as to how long they stay on.
I explained that I read the manual and quoted exactly that it said on post #7, but I guess you didn't read the thread before commenting?

Is that how you play this game?!?!?

As above, the "determined" distance on my bike is 300mts at speed, so that makes sense and it's actually not bad, it's for the low speed stuff that I feel they stay on forever, so I guess I'm back to pushing the cancel button.

I've just acquired a 1250 and I'm a bit concerned about the indicators cancelling after 5 flashers, which I personally think is a bit short, and perhaps I'm being a bit thick here (I know, - not uncommon in this forum :D) but what is a 'speed dependent distance'?

but what is a 'speed dependent distance'?

Whichever comes first, distance or time.
Similar set-up to the old K series from 1986, good to see they're finally catching up with old original tech .:D

Yes, I follow that.
Less than 30kph it's 50m
Between 30 & 100kph - no distance is given. Is it still 50m?
over 100kph, = 5 flashers, so no distance.

But I still don't understand what a 'speed dependent distance' is.

Depends how fast your going over a certain distance :D

I thought on the 1250 it depends on what speed your doing when you turn them on as to how they cancel. ie under 20mph they flash until your speed increases to over 30mph. indicate at motorway speed = 5 flashes. That's what is in my manual.

Problem solved.

There are 3 programmable options. Default is the factory setting as stated in the manual. Second option increases the number of flashers from 5 to about 9. Third option is about 17 flashers, which is the one I've gone for. All the other parameters remain as in the manual, - I think!

Mine was re-programmed in about 15 minutes. I'm more that satisfied with the result.

Good to know!
