Would you. I love the GS12 but could half the money I have tied up in it and buy an 1150? I don't screw the bike but enjoy the torque. How do they compare?

1100,1150,1200 then an 1150 GSA.
Makes perfect sense ;)

1100, ...

er - actually just 1100 ;)

Nowt wrong with going back to quality :thumb

1200 is a significantly lighter bike and has a much zingier top end than an 1150. Feels much more sporty. I kept my 1150 because it's plenty fast enough, I love rolling along on the wave of torque, it seems pretty solid, it's mine and it's paid for. My impression on a test ride a few years ago was that I'd only notice the difference with the 1200 if I revved it, dropped it or carried a pillion (1150 has a bigger pillion seat). 1150 is fast enough if I red line it, I try not to make too much of a habit of tipping over, and my pillion appreciates the space.

With regards the seat space for the pillion, that wouldn't be true when comparing the GSA's, would it?

He's right......................yesterday's pillion moaned about the abysmal passenger accomodation on a 1150GSA (even with a Corbin seat:rolleyes:), compared to a 12GS that she was previously used to:blast

Well Mavette has gone from doing long days on the back of the HP to doing even longer days on the 12GSA (longest without getting off the bike was 285 miles).

I guess the 1150 GSA just lost another point...

I guess the 1150GSA pillion is on a par with the HP2, easy to swap to a GS dualseat though, to even it up on points (if we're scoring:D) with a 12GSA/GS:augie

it's your big Arse that was the problem, not the seat.
On the otherhand mine is as sweet as a peach :kissy2

I took a 1200gsa out for a test ride on saturday for a couple of hours and had a blast, really enjoyed it, but would I buy one? probably not.
not because its a bad bike far from it, its just that its really not that much better than what I have already.
its obviously a new bike and feels new where mine does not, but whilst it was quicker and was a great bike to ride, It was not as comfortable (but I do have a corbin seat) it didn't handle much better (I have wilbers built for me on mine), it was not much quicker, and for me it was not £10000 better than the 1100 I currently own, add to that dealer servicing to keep up a warranty, depreciation, cost of new luggage etc its really not enough better to tempt me to get a new bike, and thats without the nagging doubts at the back of my mind over reliability, and my dislike of canbus, If I didnt have a gs already I would have one in a heartbeat, but as I do I cant see the value in the new one.
