Sad news. I have to make way for a car for my son. 2 cars, 5 bicycles, and 2 motorcycles is just too many to fit. It's a '93 GSPD, but modified to make it lighter and a bit better off road. 120,000 miles, but running really well, and used every week.
I'm not in a hurry to sell, aiming for July at the latest. It's in Kenilworth, Warwickshire. Price? I don't know, make an offer! Not a silly offer. It must go to a good home. Hence it's not on Ebay.
I bought it from CW Motorcycles in 2001, and they did a lot of upgrades, including a 4-pot calliper, and a new gearbox (which from the serial number, I think might be one of the last produced).
The engine is the best thing about the bike. Top-end recently refurbished by Mike, and with a Wedgetail ignition, it's better than ever. The battery is an almost new PC680. Starts easily, and settles to a nice tickover immediately (that'll be the Wedgetail). It has a higher output alternator, and an adjustable regulator. Enduralast ignition coil. No oil leaks (Mike did the pushrods). Thermostat on the cooler.
The Öhlins has just been refurbished by Brook Suspension. I haven't put it back on yet, so it currently has a newish M-Shock (OK, but not Öhlins).
Front forks have fully adjustable cartridges, which are an improvement. And a nice chrome lower fork bridge, stiffer than the standard.
Headlight is a very bright Trucklite LED (often used on Land Rovers) in a nice billet mount with BMW symbols carved into the side. Rear light is LED (the switch is a bit unreliable and worth changing soon).
There are Denali spot lights on the crash bars.
The fairing and front crash bars were removed, saving a lot of weight and changing the balancer of the bike. An Acewell dash replaces the analogue dials.
Touratech single seat.
Various other upgrades.
The worst aspect of the bike are the wheels, with the rims getting quite discoloured and a bit scratched.
