The new Sena SMH10 has been tested for the past 4 weeks and i have to say it comes out at the top of all the Bluetooth systems i have used. I really like it and you can use in ear monitors so that works great for me. Still a little short of an Autocom system in some areas but i have to say its a 9/10 for me :thumb2 We started selling them they are that good. Well done to Sena :thumb

The only thing that put me off of these so far is the lack of being able to share bluetooth connections with your passenger. When we are touring, Mrs Monty likes to listen to the music and the satnav with me and the Sena did not allow this. This is a total deal breaker for us, so has this changed with the new version?

The Scala G4 has this facility but does not provide the option of using my moulded earplug speakers. Again this is a deal breaker. Maybe one of these companies will realise they need to offer both these facilities and then more people will take the plunge. Or maybe it is just me.

Regards,

Matt :thumb

Good point Matt, I have yet to test it out with her on the back. Will give that a go next and report back. :thumb2

I know its possibly not the best solution but if your pillion had the ipod in their breast pocket pocket you could both listen to the same music using a wired connection to the mp3 port on both Senas ....

Interphone and Scala G4 are good units as well as the Sena and we sell all three but for me i like the Sena unit the best so far. Will soon get onto testing rider to Pillion and then bike to bike. :thumb2

I'm no expert, but my understanding of bluetooth technology is that it is a 'pairing' i.e. 2. You can pair with multiple devices, but you can't treble. The Sena is great for bike to bike, or bike to passenger. But I don't think any bluetooth headset can offer what you're after.

You can achieve what you want, so long as SWMBO can do without the zumo instructions. I can understand why she would want to share the music, but why would she want it interupted by the zumo? The Sena has a wired input for an ipod, a simple 'Y' splitter will allow you both to share the music.

How does the Sena / G4 manage vox between rider and pillion? Is there a delay or is it instant like autocom for example?
Not being able to share the same music from a bluetooth iphone is a disadvantage for me...

Cool. Is there any way of pillion and rider sharing music from an iphone connected via BT?
I also have a zumo but I never use it for audio commands.

Only way is a bit of a frig.

you need 2 of these sorts of things bluetooth transmitter & one of these stereo splitters

The iphone headphone socket connects to the two bt transmitters via the double adapter.

The BT transmitters need to be able to last at least 10 hours to match the Sena life.

Hi folks,

I noticed on the Sena web site that they are releasing a Bluetooth hub in a few months so you will be able to share music etc from a single device to multiple headsets. Depending on price and complexity this may offer the solution I need.

We shall see.

Looks like the hub won't work in the way you think, the SR10 main use is to convert a PTT radio to bluetooth. It looks like they have dropped the idea of it having multiple inputs too.

That said the device (SR10) was never envisaged to allow one device to connect to multiple headsets, the concept was to connect multiple devices to one headset.

Have a look at the comment from Dan Kim of Sena on their web forum, and it clearly indicates there will be an A2DP hub in a few months. I saw the SR10 and I am aware it is not want I want...

That's good - that would solve the problem!

Ah I followed the link from Sena website to Bluetooth Hub which was the prototype for the SR10.

Sounds interesting.
I've ordered an SR10 from the US and hope to have it within a week. Will be using it with Midland G7 radio, Zumo 660 and iPhone4 so fingers crossed it all works as it says it should.
