Sena SMH10 vs. Interphone F4 vs. Scala G4

I've decided I want to take the plunge after an extended loan of the Scala G4 this summer. I'm very impressed with the ease of use and sound quality and I'm inclined to go with that. From a quick perusal of the performance claims and prices of the other two systems I can't see a big difference in price but the Scala claims much superior range and battery performance.

Can anybody enlighten me as to why either of the other two are superior? :confused:

People have reported that the Scalas range is optomistic ,also its ugly ( my view) compared to the others. There are some current comment on hrer re the Sena (i have one) ,suffice to say it works ,delivers great sound and genuinly will give 800-1000m.No probs pairing with my Zumo550.
 
Scala is the biggest and IMHO its ridiculously large for what it is. Longest in the business of motorcycle specific BT systems and systems most use when integrating with brand specific BT solutions (BMW, Schuberth, Nolan).

As has been said claims on range are optimistic to say the least.

Sena: Sweetest interface and best looking but was disappointed with robustness of system and I broke a helmet bracket too easily. Otherwise would've stuck with it.

Interphone: Its the unit I've gone with even though to adapt it for my monitors is the most difficult of all of them. Also buttons aren't good for anything other than small fingers and thin gloves but I've persevered with it and its been utterly reliable even though it gets a hard life.

But they all frustrate me in ways my Autocom when it was fitted never did. As an Autocom user I reckon you need to manage your expectations before shelling out on a system as I know it will frustrate you too!

I've got to be honest I've never managed to get my Autocom to work the way the Scala did out of the box. For me it tries to do too many things and I can never hear a word Heather says :(

I purchased a couple of SENA SMH10's.

Big choosing factors over Scala G4 were accessory range, SENA sell an extensive range of mounting / headset / microphone options, large jog wheel for volume and iPod control, good reviewr reports from UKGSER's plus.......PRICE Take a look at www.sportsrider.co.uk

As a long term Autocom user (and fan) I was sceptical about BlueTooth. But, having now used a Scala 4 for nearly a year I must say I am a convert.

If you do not need the additional range of an Autocom / Kenwood set-up and / or to babble to all and sundry when on the move, then Scala is the way to go, for sure. Converted for use with in-ear monitors (Thanks to judge and Ultimatear, for that :thumb2 ) it is hard to beat.

Buy with confidence :thumb2

Never been good with a soldering iron that's one of the reasons I went with the SENA as they do a reasonably priced earbud mount with no messing.

I think from the reviews that the SENA and G4 are both high end headsets compared to the others but the SENA bagged it for me as well as the great offer price we paid.
 
This maybe ought to be in eBay section but

Looking at bluetooth bits and saw these Interphone F4 for what seems to be a ridiculous price.
Seller appears to have sold 9 of the 10 sets yet still has 0 feedback .

Shyster or what ?

I asked this seller a question then reported the matter to ebay when no reply was forthcoming.The ad has now been removed - co-incidence ?
 
After our trip this year Mutters, I'm convinced that the scala is the right one for me. The others have good reviews, but not having used them (& would want to, ultimately to compare against the scala) I reckon the scala is going to be spot on.

Easy fitting, very user friendly, a single charge lasts forever & audible @ high speed and has a good range, which I know we had a bit of fun with when line of sight was against us, or getting slowed by traffic beyond the reported comms range, but it simply did everything really well.

Am also seriously thinking about some customer sound ear plug, just to complete the whole comms experience!!
