Hi guys

thinking of purchasing the SMH5 Is anyone using one are they any good? I will only need it for sat nav directions not to make/receive phone calls so i wont need the mike ,can this be detached? and left off?

I bought one last July and have been very happy with it. I use it with a Shoei Hornet, and works very well with a zumo 660 sat nav. I also have it working with my mobile phone (via the Zumo) and find I can hear (and be heard) at motorway speeds with earplugs in.

I can't remember if the mic can be detached, but is pretty unobtrusive installed.

I use it daily on my one hour commute and it hasn't missed a beat. If I remember to turn it off, I can get a week's use out of it without charging.

Can't vouch for the intercom aspect as I haven't used it.

I got it online from sportsbikeshop.co.uk who were very good - I ordered it 3pm and it arrived next morning.

I have to say it's the only bluetooth headset I've used, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it works well.

Thanks for the info purchased one and am well happy with it -yes you can leave the mike off if you so wish
