September run to Greece

Looking at leaving at hull ferry to Rotterdam then traveling to Black Forest over alps to Italy through Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, Greece, stay in corfu have a week off the bike then ferry to Venice, the Switzerland France ferry to dove then home to north

Accommodation some B and B's on way down, in corfu week in hotel off the bike, same on way back,

Anyone interested in the same thing

Sounds like a great trip, we shall be at the Serres rally in Greece this September as we were last year. We traveled back through all the countries you mention but the other way. Places we enjoyed en route included the walled city in Dubrovnic, the Koto inland sea, have a scoot around the perimeter, and you may like the cable ferry in Butrint.

keep your eyes peeled for potholes, landslip and expansion joints on bridges in Albania.

Yes I've been down this road once or twice,
Even stayed at the old town in koto, did you manage to walk the steps to the monastery to the top,,,,,I did,,,,,,on a very hot day

I never seen any pot holes, just big friggen holes in the middle of the motorway, it was hard to try miss them as I was trying to dodge the horse and carts in the middle of the night.

Sadly the answer is no, we were dragging this lot home.



So we had to careful where we went and more importantly where we parked, even now I break out into a full on sweat when I think about Tirana mental traffic, kids jumping over the a frame whilst women with babes in arms tried to clean the screen, then the gps went garrity.!!!

You might want to Google the Roman ruins at Butrint if you like that kind of stuff.

I'm planning a trip to Croatia end Aug - nothing booked yet so I am a bit flexible on times. One thing though - planning to take the Newcastle ferry. Do you know something I don't?

Your choice,,,,, if the Newcastle suites you that's fine, I've stopped traveling on this ferry good few years ago as it's well known in the northeast as a buzz trip ferry, you might fit straight in,,, if that's what you are interested in, i think the hull is much better and food is nicer and I can get pissed on my own,,,lol,,,

May be switching plans about as I'm doing a 36 hour enduro in Italy, travel down to Dover then over to France,,,travel to Italy this way

Sorry rugbywales missed your reply, thanks for your offer had a great trip, the enduro went great guns, I think next year I'll be doing this on a smaller engine bike,,,,,,as I was f--- after it,,,,,the 1150gs was a bit hard work,,,,,I think,,,,
