As you have demonstrated, don't bother using this site unless you are one of the minority who has found no problems with your 12GS. Otherwise, Fanum et co really have no wish to understand your problems or help.

C'mon guys, stop paying attention to this "gentleman"

If he wanted something from B*W he wouldn't be moaning here but in court asking B*M for compensation...

He just regrets selling the bike, that's all!!!

Mr. tenner, you said you'd leave...so be a good boy! Bye bye...:ukgser

I am having a right laugh at all this mutual hate blether, as I guess the author of the original 'prompt' is. I have been riding bikes since I could walk, started off on a Excelsior Consort 98cc, ridden them all,big Jap stuff included. got my first BM in 1985, now on my third GS, a 1200 and neve had a jot of problems with them. Been all over Europe, good roads, crap roads brilliant sun, shite weather without so much as a hint of a breakdown.

Just enjoying my first day of retirement after over 30 years serving Queeen and Country and just got back from a 150 mile ride. The weather was freezing, some parts of the roads were covered in snow and ice but the Gs,as always was faultless, the only thing that is aching is my face from grinning from ear to ear throughout the entire journey. Heasted grips on number 2 most of the time, vest on. Does life get any better. did I see any other bikes out? Yes, just two and both Beemers.

So keep up the blather and rants it is keeping me highly amused and ever so smug knowing that I am riding the best bike on the planet ever invented by a human being. By all means ride and enjoy your UJM but biking to me is much more about soul, something which I have never ever found in a UJM.

Ride On, wonder where I will go tomorrow? :clap :beerjug: :clap
Too bloody right mate!! Couldn't agree more. If they're so shite just sell it and piss off. You won't be missed.

After all the previous trials and tribulations of ownership I now find the paint bubbling on my filler cap can I reject this bike under the sales of goods act?

Fantastic.

What do you think?

Evidentally some of us do think...the real question is "do you think?"

Now I'm really bored with this, so unless you have something new and constructive to say, we've heard all the rest before and we don't need to hear it again. What precisely is it that you don't understand about that message from so many people, unless of course, you don't think!

Perhaps I've just answered my own question. :clap

So many people? Its the same blokes who answer every thread! They have a monopoly on here and exist purely to shout down people who have experienced dire problems with a really C-R-A-P motorcycle.

As one of the earlier contributors wrote...BMW can only dream of building bikes that match the Japanese for reliability and durability. I was reminded of this fact when I bought my Honda; curiously enough, the dealer had zero interest in taking one in part exchange on Pan European he was selling..due to the problems he had heard that BMW were having with the 12GS.

However, if you gentlemen prefer to stay dumb to the short comings of the bike and have no wish to resolve issues, then carry on...isnt ignorance bliss?

Just looking at the March Issue of 'Bike' - there's a final analysis of their 2005 test fleet which included the CB1300S. The heading for the CB1300 review is;

'It's made me bitter'

Enough said

Luckily, I've never been influenced by Journos or Bike Magazine. Their one and only talented writer has gone MIA in South America.

Real world experience influences me far better and as previously stated, I can find no other bike web site that catalogues such a dire amount of production faults as the 12GS.

Would this also be the same Bike magazine that one of their staff writers said of the GS...'It was lost one me..and why so heavy?'

Stop feeding the Troll....

Im really trying over here Nadeem, theres blood running down my lip where ive been biting me tongue.

give us all strength to overcome

Ignore the troll and he'll go away...no more replies and he'll feck off...please stop... :thumb

In summary for those who can't be bothered to read the whole thread:
Bloke bought bike, bike didn't work, bloke not pleased.

Other people have had similar problems and they were solved generally to the satisfaction of those concerned. (Like me, bike didn't work, got a replacement, problem solved, bloke pleased) ;)

Bloke no.1 develops persecution complex, goes off on a raging tangent, clearly doesn't read the site before ranting..... and loses lifetime collection of handbags. Prams within 1 mile radius empty of toys.

Other people (like me)have find useful help and advice and information from this site, quite like it here and find the old hands  quickly identify the riff-raff :dabone

Well said Marcus...that pretty much sums it up :thumb

I, like many others, have had enough of this old twaddle, so this thread is now closed.

If Mr Tentoone has anytnhing amusing or constructive to contribute to the forum and the GS community, he'll be more than welcome to carry on.......otherwise, I hope he gets the message and gets on with his life :)

G'night ;)
