Guys

If you are after some serious tubeless off road rubber on standard rims, check this out. I bought a set of these, only just become available in the UK.

The rear looks particularly good...

Front not quite so aggressive but the tread spacing is good, here it is compared to a part worn TKC...

Havent tried them yet as bike's in surgery at the mo, but will keep you posted.

Oh they are Mitas E09, available from ...

Ask for Gwyn, tell him Mike from Big Bike Rally Challenge sent you. He bust a gut to get a pair out to me in time for the K2.

Yeah, the rears are perfect for larger machines, but I wanted a deeper front so purchased an XT644 Army Special to fit the X-Challenge for a trip to Balkans.
I will defo buy the E-09 again, and Loz had similar combination on his 690KTM and he too said the same.

I wish they did the XT644 Army fronts in 19"........

What was it for the DRZ - 18" / 21"?

No, 650X-challenge, 100/90-21 front and 140/80-18 rear.
Though I have got another pair of E-09 here for the DRZ as I'm taking it to Portugal in September and it will have a 130-80-18 rear on.

To add, I am in Portugal in July too but with my 1200GSA, and i have just fitted a pair of Mitas E-07, and they look good, though they feel a little weird on the road after a worn pair of tourances.....;) But I plan a couple of trail rides in Portugal and also riding back home via the Bardenas desert in Spain so it can be a little dusty there on the tracks. Looking forward to trying the E-07 off tarmac.

So, what do you reckon for the 690 for Morocco? The E09's? Or E09 rear and 644 front?

Am no expert on 690 or morroco but you have rims with a good selection of tyres which is the gsa's stumbling block. The Mitas i got would be too soft.

Arent Michelin Dessies de riguer?

Suspect there's plenty of good advice to be had from those that know.

What he said :thumb2

Although, have a look at a MEFO Stonemaster for the rear. Ive had a couple on now and they are cracking.
On the sidewalls or between the tread blocks?
