as in the thread below i have been contacted by the dutch guy in regard for an exchange of sorts regards the road king for the electra glide . i just need to think about it very carefully as att put it why would i want that pile of shit ,well coz i like it .
so i guess the road king is at about £7000 and he wants £8500 so guess i would have to chuck in about £1500- £2000 (ish ) for once i just need to think sensible .

i am not expecting your answers comments to be sensible they can if you want but i cant decide .

ill be att for a moment " if you cant decide dont expecting us to you moron " thrown in with a few f!!!cks here and there .

i need to think ............see ya

Keep your RK, it's miles ahead of the EG on performance / handling / reliability.

The only thing the EG has going for it is its classic value. Oh and a trip to Amsterdam perhaps.

Have you ridden a Shovel? It's not like a modern HD and I wouldn't want one as my only/main bike, unless I could fix it at the roadside. It will break at some point and it will be slow and leak. It's old. It's also very cool

why did you say the last bit :blast.

i would keep the gs as a motorway cruiser etc.

i know keeping the road king is the sensible option ...................but it is so nice

Dave....You are not into bikes, you are into what you think they mean.
You have limited mechanical means, your take on what is fashionable is laughable, the hipster shit is just that.....SHIT.

You need to understand what it is that you actually want and that will take time, so fuck with this Netherlands/Holland shit, take some time out and understand what it is that YOU actually want.

I have done this and have a lovely Heritage Softail/Fatboy bollocks bike......

Now I am also into trucks, proper American shite....The cloggies love all this shite, much more than we do, so like HD they put a premium on the price.....Fuck `em.

Your context is limited to bike, not country and the commercial nuances, so means fuck all....I would put "with all due respect" but since you are a totalcunt this is not applicable.
Fuckmesoftly dotfuckingcom.

you are part right and part wrong ,i am into bikes and allso what they mean to me and what they do for me and yes that is tied into fashion and allso we all make and i mean everyone of us like it or not a lifestyle statement with what we own ride or drive .
so yes you are partly right but its a bit more complex i have lost a bit of interest in new bikes i have the road king as its the one i have paid for and i own it ,not a loan company or a bank i own it ,i would love an old harley just to potter around on and a few trips but not as an every day transport its not practical . its like owning a nice painting just to look at the painting brings you joy it doesnt have to do more than that.

as regard that word "hipster " i would like to think i have allways been on trend as something i have been into for years certain clothe certain shoes etc etc long before the word surfaced and shall be wearaing certain things long after the word has dissappeared and been replaced with the latest ad men buzzword .
i do understand the point your making in regard to being hipster shit it is unfortunate that i have had to wait untill the last few years when i have had enough money to buy a few and own a few harleys they were allways the bike i never thought i would own ..
so if i do get it i will enjoy it for the moment i am in it for it is but a fleeting time ,if i dont i shall enjoy thinking about and continue on with the road king (may buy a triumph bonneville as well).
we are here only once so i want to enjoy it even the turmoil it brings in making the decision .

but i do appreciate your input

Dave

Just do it. It makes perfect sense to someone as shallow and vain as you. :D

Also think about the many happy hours you will spend going into the garage to have a look at it. You have so much time on your hands mulling around the estate day after day.

Mandy will certainly benefit from not having you under her feet all the time in your servants quarters. Think of her. She deserves a break (from you). :thumb

Like most of your last few bikes - there is no real need to ride really it is there?

HTH :aidan
