The wife is starting to see my point of view that a f650 would be a good move for her !!!

so i am looking feedback from owners especially from the ladies.

thanks!:)

The F650GS is a serious motorcycle, do not buy one thinking its some sort of soft option. It is no girlie bike but is a quality bit of kit able with minimal changes to suit smaller people into which category many female riders fall. Though I personally drive the Dakar variant I certainly would wish my wife to buy an F650 if she wished to take up motorcycling.

Hi Ming,

I had a '95 F650, then 'progressed' to an R1100S and returned to an F650GS.

OK I'm a bit short in the leg, so ordered a lowered chassis version but I rate the bike very highly and is a much better tool (for me) than the much bigger twins.

I've toured with it, commuted and have never felt that I've been missing out!

Bloody great bike!

I now commute on SWMBO's F650GS.

It's a little bit small for me - it's a lowered version and I'm 6' 3" - but it's better through London traffic than the 1150GS.

My only real complaint is the appalling seat - I only commute 15 miles each way, but I'm already starting to develop Orangutan Bum! (I know how the 650 guys on the Morocco trip felt!)

dont settle for anything less

well i'm not a Lad... and its up to you if you take me seriously

forgive me if i'm repeating my self here....
but the f650gs is the bike i have bonded to most over my many years of riding (ok.. so i had a break to have the kids)

It is comfortable to ride, even for my smaller height, it is forgiving (except when you act like a complete tart on it i.e gravel and princetown) its easy to manouvre (on and off the bike.)

i did 2500 miles on my last bike (kawasaki) over 2 years.... i've done 8,000 miles on this bike since march this year.

me and 'wolfie' are best mates, we go almost everywhere together...
balderstons think i'm mad because i say goodbye to him when he goes for servicing and greet him when i come to take him home.

as for the single cylinder and performance and vibration....well.... it gives me the power i need for overtaking and i think the need for frequent wee stops is more likely to the fact that i've had 2 children, rather than the vibration of the saddle.....

the only downside i find is in high winds, when its handling rather 'interesting'

all in all i can only recommend that you buy one
if your partner wants to come and have a go on mine, feel free, its the lowered model (which i would not have bought if i'd known touratech do a low seat conversion)

i've got a 26" inside leg, and i can chuck it about with no problem.

but remember... if you get her a 650gs, she's got to have the panniers, tank bag , streetguard suit and colour co-ordinated helmet to go with it.

happy christmas

I love my BMW F 650 CS Scarver!!
It's perfect for a first bike!
...and it's the only BMW with a driving belt... and a hole in front of the seat!

My wife, who has stolen our F650, is very pleased. She is commuting to her job, daily.
The vibrations from the thumper, she says they feels like champagne...
