I was planning on going down to meet up with everyone at St Marys loch but sloth and a slightly sair heed got the better of me..So by the time I got my act together it was too late to make it down there in time to meet up so plan 'B' was dusted off and I took a right at Kilmelford and headed up to Loch Avaich
The single track road was almost deserted and wound it's way down and along the loch side
Past Drissaig the road started to climb giving stunning views of the hills and Loch Awe.
A left turn at Kilchrenan took me down Glen Nant but I didn't stop to look at the waterfall- saving that for another day- strange little bridge across the burn..
Taking a right at Taynuilt and along the Pass of Brander looking for the new Archery range close to the Smokery at Inverawe.
From there it was off to the Welly for some lunch along an almost empty and mostly dry road.
This immaculate and interesting looking R1200 trike was parked up.
The Welly was mobbed so I went alnog the road to the Real Food Cafe and got me a jumbo sausage roll and a coffee which I enjoyed outside in the sunshine before heading back homeward stopping off to savour the sun alongside the burn at Strone.
I saw this flying around just south of Oban and stopped for a chat with the instructor who gave me the low down on the para motor between yelling instructions to his pupil who was circling around the top of the hill. Looked like a fun way to spend a calm afternoon..
I had a great wee ride out to myself but wish I had got my lazy erse oot my pit and down to the borders- it was such a stunning day....
