Took my 12GSA for its first service out of the dealer network yesterday. After reading on here about ABW I took the plunge, the bike was treated to new oil, iridium plugs, new paint on the main stand, calipers stripped and cleaned, brake fluid changed, final drive oil changed, gear oil changed, valve clearance checked, throttle calibrated, diagnostic check, and then finally sprayed with ACF 50, all on a good Friday. How did I know all the above was done ? I was made welcome to watch the whole process, which I did.

Johno explained what he was doing as he went along, and showed me through the diagnostic process and the throttle calibration.

On top of that plenty of coffee and jaffa cakes, a good all round experience which I will be repeating on the bikes next (24000) service.

The above service was the 18000 one which cost me 190 quid (including the plugs) a 100 quid cheaper than I was quoted at a main dealer (without plugs).

Cheers guys

Is the bike out of warranty now, I'm worried about invalidating my warranty by going to independent.

yeh, the bike is out of warranty, but they do use genuine parts so with eu laws I don't think that is as much an issue now.

Sounds like you had a good deal and real barging :rob but I do prefer to take it my one to the dealire :D

That's because in the past no independent will deal with you. :D
