Service indicator

Ok, bikes just out of warrenty, so, did the full 12k service myself and guess what.. The service indicator has just come on. I guess BM have an electronic reset for this, can I do it at home or do I need a dealer..!!?? I don't fancy paying BMW added tax..!!

You can reset the service indicator yourself but you need one of these.

Not the cheapest gizmo in the world but if you are doing your own servicing it will help.

Is this being PC... we'll have the namby pamby brigade after us .... always preferred that yellow with green stripe tape ...or is it green with yellow stripe

I have a 2010 1200gs and the word "service" has just come on next to the mileage readout at 5900 miles. Is that it or does the warning triangle come on later ? going in for a service soon so will be reset. Just wondering for next time.
