I have had my 1300 GSA now almost a year. Delivered end April 2025. I have now had the initial run in service obviously after 1000KM and the bike will shortly come up saying it needs its 1st bigger service. I did 3 trips last year and the clock shows 8600km. Just curious if I should follow the service interval advice and take it in or just ride it for this year and wait another year for Service. My guess it will be close to around 13000 km by the end of the year.

what month was the 1000km service done? The service light will come on a year after that or 10000km after, whichever comes first. If you were in the UK I would suggest you book now for a service at the time you expect to reach the first of these milestones due to workshop capacity restraints. Do you have the same situation in NL?

I assume that you are still in warranty in which case you will need to get the service done when it is due. Once out of warranty I always service mine every 6000 miles not every 12 months. The oil isn't going to go bad for a good while after 12 months and I will always reach the 6,000 mile within 18 months of the last service

yup, 1st oil service at 1000km was done in June so by the time I get back from my first long 6 day trip the service light will be on. (y)(y)(y)

simple then, make a booking now for after the trip so you have a guaranteed slot for an annual service. No idea if that resets the mileage countdown as you might need a 10000km service at 11k later in the year as well.

Thanks Wessie, agreed and done. Its not so much the costs but just to get it right and the point on warranty is valid as well. Booked in for Mid July just after our first trip and just after the service light says its due. Should be around 10k km by then as well.

Or maybe get the mileage service early if the trip pushes you over 10k ...
