Hello need some advice on service warrenty etc. My gs has covered 10800 miles, have a planned trip to spain in mid may going by ferry to Santander,
With this mileage and a couple of trips prior expect my mileage to 13000 when I return.
My service book states my next service is due at 12600.
what mileage above 12600 would be acceptable and still ok for the warrrenty?

look, just ride the frickin bike, go have a great time (its a long ferry to santandair so get pissed) spain is hot, so take appropriate riding wear


if your that bothered ring the place you bought your bike from..ask them.

Forget an old 1150s advice an youll be fine with 500 the wrong side of your schedule without fu***ng your warranty ,have a good trip

If your that concerned (i certainly wouldn't be) ... get it serviced whilst your there .... bet it would be cheaper & certainly wouldn't break the terms of your parole...

BMW 'allow' up to 10%, so 600miles or 13200 in your case.

As has been said, if you are really worried get from the dealer confirmation that the expected milage over 12k will be OK, the alternative if you are really, really rattled is get it serviced early before you go.

Just let the dealer know prior.....

Picked my brand new GS Adv on the Thursday in 07. Went to Le Mans for the Moto GP, came back with 1,200 miles on it! took it for its 600 mile service no probs.

Funny 3rd Boxer I have had and by far the best one, prob re above

Enjoy Spain its fantastic, been past 2 years going again this Sept.

Thanks for all your replys the 10% over info makes sense so will get serviced on return.
if weather is o in northern spain will tour around there, camping and hotels.
if weather poor will head to the med coast.

Why not put 1200 miles on it and get a service before you go? Or ask your dealer..........
and it's warranty
