Service quote Cannon BMW Witham Essex

Guys, a little advice please.

My GSA TC service has come up on the dash, 21500 miles, last service carried out at 17500 miles but is over a year ago.

I have always used Cannon BMW Tonbridge Wells, but thought I would go local.

Called Cannon BMW Witham, quoted me £200.00 so thought that’s good, then give my reg and the guys said “oh! That’s the air cooled, it’s more labour intensive than a WC” I asked how that could be? He said “cause it is?”

Is this right?

......I don’t mind paying for a service but he really didn’t seem to know why, and it made me feel uncomfortable.

Anyone know of a good local independent around Chelmsford?

Yep, if I recall correctly, things like interval for valve check differs, 6k vs 12k fx.

drain bung or not on the rear bevel.... early ones wheel off and phaff about to pull drive shaft out to drain then put in a new seal … got to be close to an hour plus a seal.... later bikes with a drain bung - 10 minutes and washer

...and 30 mins to unbolt half the bike to get to the air cleaner.... no idea where it is on an LC

how many spark plugs on an LC there's another 100 quid gone in parts and lab if an LC is one plug per pot
