Does anyone know what is on a 6k service schedule?
Went to look at bike I am buying last Sunday and dealer told me they had just done the 6k and yearly service,
The bike was nice and clean, oil filter looked new, but the brake calipers were quite grotty, in partical the pins the pads slide on, I would have thought these should be cleaned as part of the service.
When questioned they said the brakes are "checked" and were "fine".
I am no mechanic, but thought the idea of a service was preventative maintenance and not a case of seeing what has broke since the last visit.
This is why I tend to service my own bikes, but nderstand BMW's suffer more without dealer history, I do not mind paying dealer prices if the work is done properly, but my fear is they never do more than change oil and filter whilst often charging for "book hours" on a schedule they pretty much ignore.
Anyone know of a dealer near Oxford that will do the job properly in future?
