Servicing Hertfordshire Area (Stevenage)

Anyone recommend an independent Person that does 1200 GSA 2010 servicing local to stevenage, Herts
I’m looking too

There is a European car place in Stevenage that has started doing BMW motorcycles, servicing and MOTs only.

I popped long there last week to get an idea of them. They are just sorting out the bike aide of things.

Not sure that I’d recommend them though as I’ve no knowledge of how capable they are.

This doesn’t answer your question in full but Sytner BMW in Stevenage are about to open a Motorrad dealership from the car showroom, primarily to replace Lind that are about to close.

Tekmotive in Welham Green if you don't want all the BMW dealer bullshit. Geoff and his workshop is as far as you can get from that, but he is old school and is probably the only other person I would let anywhere near my bike. He's pretty familiar with Beemers too. I have known Geoff for a long time, he is sound.
I've been meaning to have a look at the Stevenage outfit above as I work in Stevenage but not got round to it yet.

website pretty basic but contact details are there.

Tekmotive, they did a puncture repair for me years ago, I didn’t know that they were still about

Cheers

Yeah, still going. Moved to new premises in the centre of Welham Green about a year ago.

Had a very recent experience at a1 independent. Having just got myself a very clean and well looked after f800gs 30th anniversary, I was keen to continue its FSH at a proper bmw outfit.
The service experience was good with regular updates and a relaxed but professional manner, but when I came to collect I noticed big scuffs and scratches on my previously pristine tank. I am not precious about the bike as it’s meant for being thrown around a bit but It looks like the crash bars were removed/refitted extremely carelessly. It was a shocking find as I got ready to ride home. I felt awkward bringing it up with them but it was so obvious I felt obliged.
They immediately said there hadn’t been an incident of dropping etc however they never consulted the workshop staff but were very confident it had nothing to do with them. We ended up going round in very polite circles which ended up frustrating me more and more. I said I didn’t want any money off and that I just wanted to get to the bottom of all the scuffs and scratches, but they stood firm.
So all I can say is I’m sure they will do a good job if you take your bike here but if anything happens to it you might be left feeling a bit confused and disappointed like me! Bottle of t cut arrived this morning so hopefully I can ‘buff it all out’.
Needless to say I won’t be a returning customer. It’s ruined my trust, all for just a few daft scratches.

See my post below. Not sure I’d recommend them after my dissappointing experience!

Update: did not buff out! Will need painting over as it’s carved out the plastics. Must’ve made a terrible noise when they did it. That tank had managed 15 years without a scratch and 2hrs with A1 and it needs a respray! :(
