Servicing history at trade in time ?

What's the mileage/ spec/ condition?

Under 15000, standard ( heated grips and cruise control, no luggage), very good. Well I went to a diferent dealer and I got just under £9000 for a late September 2016 model, standard with heated grips and cruise. Frankly I am not upset or give a shit, but is worth going around and get diferent prices. Dealer wants to max the profits, same dude brings over HP bikes ( which still sit on the shop floor ) from the continent and is selling them for ridiculous prices! Good for him, his coffee is good and the bike service is cheaper

I have also been told by dealer who i get on really well with that if your bike hasnt got BMW history they! the dealer arent allowed to resell them,also if you look on dealer websites now they all seem to have a two year warranty has that anything to do with it?

Full Service History with BMW, I get on with my dealer and I really like him. Just don't buy my bikes ( last 4 ) from him You are no his friend, you are the chap that helps him get the next Omega watch.

I am of the opinion that if you go into a dealer thinking he is your friend he has already won. I know of salesmen who have taken more profit in a deal from their relatives than people they don't know.

On another point, I am jealous of you lot on the island just off the mainland here who have a choice of dealers to go to. We have only one dealer here in Northern Ireland and only 3 on the whole island of Ireland.

Just enquired about trading my Gs Lc in for a new Gsa Lc, was told by salesman that BMW dealer aren't able to resell a bike unless it has a full BMW service history. Therefor unable to quote a reasonable price.
As it happens mine is ok but if this is correct maybe we ought to be made more aware.
Anyone with any different info.?

Sell privately - there will be several prospective purchasers who don't even contact you because of the lack of history.

Surely a dealer can have the same criteria for purchase?

But- as prev said.......... maybe they didn't want your bike as they had more than enough stock?

I've sold many bikes with home service history and never had a problem. I like working on my bikes and after what I've heard about some dealer servicing it's likely mine have been serviced to a higher standard. I bought one bike with 300 miles on the clock from a dealer who had stamped the service book for the first service but it was 100% obvious that it hadn't been done. I use genuine parts, take photos and keep records of what I do and when which has always been accepted by those who have bought my bikes.

Haha, Precious.?.. maybe you should read the bit where it says 'as it happens mine is ok'

But to get back on track maybe there are a few more people out there that now think dealer servicing may result in higher residuals when the time comes to trade up to a newbie..

Would like comments from a main dealer really..
