My 1150GS Adventure needs it's 6000 mile service. I live in Newport and work in Bristol, and can't decide whether to go to Bath Road Motorcycles in Bristol or Rydale in Cardiff.

Any reccomendations... or alternatives?

Never had any problems with services at Rydales get a loan bike go home pick it up later in the day job done,Bristol is a 60 mile round trip is it worth it? :nenau

I bought my bike in Bristol and used Bath Rd for 1 service. It was done very well and they gave a "free" loan bike.

I then moved to Cardiff and used Rydales for convenience. In 2002/3 they were a bit ropey but in the last 2 years have improved greatly. The do charge for a loan bike now, unless you have BMW insurance.

So, both places are competent IMV. Depends on convenience and the cost. Phone them up and get a quote for the service. As you work in Bristol, getting the bike to Bath Rd is probably easier.

If in doubt, spin a coin.

Have had mine done at Bath Road. Only dealership convenient for me. Good service with a loan bike (if you have BMW Ins). Strongly suggest you do a pricing comparison though. Steve.

OK... Thanks guys. Bristol is more convenient as I can drop the bike off on the way to work an collect it later... no loan needed. If I use Ryales it would mean getting to work later, or do it on a day off... :nenau an day's off are for riding the bike! ;)

Think I'll just ring up and see who's the cheapest as you all seem happy with their work, and that's the most important bit for me!

I've never used Bath Road, but have used Rydales for 5 services on 2 different bikes. I've always found Rydales efficient and friendly, and the bill always tallies with the figure they gave me over the phone. Can't complain at that. :thumb
