Hi all,

Anyone have any recommendations for getting some work done on a GS? Specifically I think my clutch slave cylinder has gone. I'm borderline competent to have a go myself but worried in case it's done any more damage and I'll not spot it.

So any recommendations of independent mechs, preferably who know GS's well?

Cheers

Jason

Thanks for the suggestions chaps. Will check them out... does anyone have any experience of Feralworks in Bristol? Know of them but not their reputation...

roadcaptain... bring your bike to mine and I'll teach you how yo do it yourself... i feel bag when people pay to have their bikes done.... on that note.... which bike do you have? Was it the ribena bike redone in black?

Thanks for the offer Cannuck, I have only had her (r1150gs) for about 3 months now and am learning fast, I may well take you up on the offer when the nexty service is due 36,000 which is about 1500 away:thumb. Or if you are doing any work for yourself and others I can come and assist

Come up whenever... i'll re-service mine and we could do yours at the same time... or just do yours. I have all the tools and even a spare service kit minus oils if you need it. Offer is always open! I'm about 15-20 mins from exeter

Thanks for the info chaps, booked in to Grahams in a week's time. Sounds like he knows his onions...

Just got the bike back from Grahams, all fixed and for a good price. He does indeed know his onions. Very happy and can recommend him - just be patient when phoning, as sometimes it takes a while to get through!

Canuck, don't suppose you have experience of KTM 990s do you? Mine is due for a service. I have the workshop manual and intended to do my own servicing on this bike (2007 model but fairly new to me) but now the moment is here I feel the need for help and a workshop.

Well, I can help and I have a decent workshop (see Airhead Weekend postings) and I'm just outside Bideford. No knowledge of 990 though.:(

You are welcome to come along and use the facilities here.
